Amazing facials and IPL
I've always had a problem with clogged pores on my face, resulting in tons of bumps and pimples. Popping these was always my favorite pastime, but it left me with scars and discoloration. After a handful of facials, Claudia at Cloud 9 completely resolved these issues. She gave me good direction on what NOT to do when I was alone in front of the mirror; she pointed me to a couple of really good products that addressed my skin problems, and she knew exactly which type of facial would be most helpful and when. Most recently I had my first microdermabrasion, with amazing results. I've also had major problems with dark hair growth and ingrown hairs wherever I waxed or shaved. After a few lower leg IPL treatments, I can finally wear skirts again in the summer and not be embarrassed at the beach. I can't recommend Cloud 9 enough.
Best facial EVER
My initial reason to come here was the products used, such as Cosmedix, but now I'll come back for the super treatment. Had a facial to cleanse my skin. The extractions were as thorough as can be and nobody has ever taken such good care of my skin during a facial. My skin is dewy and soft, clean and happy and that's a big difference from what it was before I came here. Highly recommend Cloud 9! Claudia is an upbeat and energetic person with a positive vibe and a contagious laugh.
Claudia knows her stuff (period)
I moved here from SF where I had been completely spoiled at Dermalounge. The NYC funk and initial stress had my face looking like Shrek. After being placed on an insanely long waitlist by neighboring spa, I opted to give Cloud 9 a try. I absolutely will not see anyone else for facials in NYC. Claudia empowers her clients. And even though you might feel like you'll never need to visit her again, you'll be back for one of her luxurious treatments. I fell asleep twice during my last visit. You can't get more relaxed than that. The option of a heated bed is all that's missing.
No one better!
Claudia has been taking care of my laser hair removal treatments since March 1996 when I used to see her every 6 weeks. Now, maybe 3 times per year. She is a pioneer in laser hair removal. Her office is warm, friendly and she does not push her wonderful products on her clients and she is vigilant in helping all of my friends who see her from excess sun exposure and keeping our beautiful skins in pristene condition.
Great results, not pushy, wonderful atmosphere
I really enjoyed my experience with Claudia. She was very friendly and talked in detail about my skin. She asked a lot of questions and paid close attention to my answers. I have eczema and extremely sensitive skin, so scrubs and extractions are usually a no-no. I also have a low threshold for pain, but her extractions were fine. My skin looked great and I never had a reaction to any of the products that she used. I figured since I had eczema and was getting married in a few months that she would tell me to come back often...well, she didn't. Claudia advised me to come back in 2 months because my skin was fine. I also brought my skin care products with me and she told me to keep using them if they worked. She didn't push me to buy anything. I absolutely recommend her.
I actually look foward to getting facials!
Having oily skin and living in this dirty city causes me to have tons of blackheads and pimples. But ever since I started getting facials at Cloud 9 (I've had at least 10 facials with Claudia) my skin has improved tremendously. My complexion cleared up and I don't break out as much, even during sweaty summers. Claudia's facials are very thorough and yes, the extraction part is still painful, but Claudia's charming personality helps distract you from the pain. It's great that she only has one room and that it's a very relaxing and clean setting. You get undivided attention and you can ask as many skin questions as you want! Unlike other facialists, Claudia doesn't push you to buy products. In fact, she is very generous with samples and freebies. I've tried several different facial places in Manhattan in the past few years and none can compare to what you get at Cloud 9. I highly recommend Claudia's facials.
10 YEARS YOUNGER!!!
This was my first experience at cloud 9 - fantastic! Claudia is a hidden treasure!!! The space is tranquil,a little zen in manhatten. Candle lit,great music,a wonderful variety of retail (including beautiful candles) ...& Most importantly -clean!!! All the detail is a true reflection of a professional. I was beyond comfortable,everything was warm & welcoming! Lets chat service: i was a bliss girl for years....Lets say lately i have been less than impressed w/the whole show/less service there. How refreshing to be in the "hands" of claudia!! The service was awesome.Her technique was great -gentle & efficient. My pores are clean,my skin is baby soft & super hydrated! Mission accomplished!! She was quite knowledgable & not pushy w/products. A hand,shoulder massage worked out a bit of city stress & i was on my way! Completely satisfied & glowing! I will definitely be back : )
Excellent bikini wax. Claudia is knowledgeable, caring and patient.
Claudia is very good! She gives the best bikini waxes I've ever had. She is knowledgeable about skin care and is always up-to-date on current treatments and products. She takes her time, does a thorough job and is reasonably priced. She even offers dating advice! I would highly recommend Claudia for waxing.
I'LL BE BACK!
The best ad a person can give me is when they show their services on themselves (i.e. a hairdresser with great hair, etc.). The owner's (Claudia) skin was glowing and dewy like she just came from the Austrian Alps. Very friendly (and chatty) and knowledgeable about my skin, and what I was doing wrong and right. I loved the fact she was knowledgeable about skin tones of all complexions and that she didn’t try to shove sell me products at the end of our session. She merely gave me a WHOLE bunch of samples (about 8 to be exact) of things I could try, to see which worked and then decide on what I'd like to buy. I must warn you though, her extractions are a killer! But where I usually have scabs and bruising the next day due to the exactions from other people, I didn’t have from her. You can tell she loves doing what she does. The spa is cozy and very comfortable. Pricy but worth it.
The VERY BEST hair removal and skin care in the city....
I have been going to see Claudia for laser hair removal for many, many years - even before she opened up her own amazing spa. Now I go to her for my skincare and hair removal, as do many of my friends. Claudia is the BEST at what she does. Not only is it a great experience to sit on the receiving end of one of her sensational facials, but the follow-up and skincare regimen that she put me on TOTALLY cleared up my persistent problem skin. She really knows how to look at your skin, determine the source of skin trouble and address it appropriately. She NEVER pushes products, but she only carries the best stuff. Her skin care recommendations have made all the difference to me (not to mention how much she has helped me with unwanted hair!). Claudia is a true professional - constantly educating herself on the latest techniques through classes, certification programs, and trade mags. She's smart and best of all, she makes you feel like you are her only customer. I would encourage everyone to go to Cloud 9 for a few consecutive treatments and see just how effective Claudia is.
CLAUDIA SAVED MY LIFE (OR BETTER YET, MY SKIN)!!!
I started to get adult acne. I needed a facialist who really cared about getting my skin back to normal or AT LEAST calmed down a bit. FINALLY after 2 years of suffering, seeing a dermatologist and on all antibiotics a friend told me to see Claudia. I made an appointment a week later and never looked back. She has the best Hands/Techniques/Equipment/Products I have EVER seen!!! And I have gone to more than 20 different spas in my life!!! The facial Claudia does is NOT your typical cookie cutter facial. CLAUDIA saved my life!!! I finally wake up and dont hate looking at my skin. I never thought people around me would tell me that my skin was GLOWING! I never want to use anyone but her and I hope she never leaves NYC. I may have to move with her :)
Claudia is the best!
I have been going to claudia for a few years now for lazer hair removal. Her office is a little slice of heaven... absolutely gorgeous. Claudia is so much fun to be around... I feel like I have known her forever. After my 1st treatment I saw huge results. It is so refreshing to go to the beach and have no razor burn. I brough my boyfriend in to have his neck lazered and she did a phenominal job.... see, it isn't just for the ladies. I decided one day to have a facial and not surprizing, claudia did a great job with that also. The botton line is that when it come to services of this nature, you get out of it what the person working on you puts into it... and in my expience I have gotten a lot out of it.
Hidden gem
I have been using claudia for several years ... And she is the only person I will ever use!!!! If you want a place to go where it is private and no other customers are being treated at the same time as you, then this is the place for you ... Your treatment is all about "you" ... Claudia makes each experience better than the next.. When I first started going to her I had a horrible case of adult acne, which I never thought would go away ..... It not only went away but I get compliments on my skin all the time ... Cloud 9 is a true gem and a spa everyone should try, bc I know u will have the same amazing results as I did ... Ask my 20 friends who go to her now , they all feel the same ... :)
Come here for true skincare and tailored facial
I have been going to Claudia for my facials for 2 years now. I have searched and tried a multitude of places in New York til I found her. You get individual attention, tailored facials to suit your skincare needs and my skin has dramatically changed since I found her. She is thorough, an expert on skincare and does not apply a cookie cutter routine on you but does what your skin needs. She is personable, never rushes through your facial and committed to helping you improve your skin.
What A Find!
I came across Cloud 9 about 8 months ago from citysearch. The reviews were amazing, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I am so glad I did!!! I went to see Claudia for my ipl hair removal...and now I trust her with my facials and brow waxing!!..It's one stop beauty for me!! I get so many compliments, that I have referred all my friends to her....share the beauty!! From start to finish, she gives you all her attention, and her attention to detail is amazing!! But don't try to fib, she knows your skin!!!(i've been scolded!, but only out of love). I actually look forward to my sessions with her. I can't say more!!, just call her...your skin will thank you!
This is the real deal if you need skin care!
This was the best facial of my life, completely thorough and relaxing! I sent my husband and my best friend to her she did such a great job on me (mond you she was able to accomodate my friend on a friday night with extremely short notice too!) The atmosphere is totally relaxing, and Claudia is really a pro. She is a lot of fun to talk to and keeps you informed each step of the way! She does not try to sell you expensive products you do not need either! I would go see her again sooner but she made my skin look so great I do not need to. I cannot give her high enough recommendations, try her and you will agree!
